Housing

Description of Housing

La Salle University will provide homestays with Mexican families within walking distance to campus to further enhance the learning of Spanish and the cultural experience of NEH Summer Scholars. Some students will have a small, single room, but others will have to share since many host families in the immediate proximity are set up to accommodate two students in one larger bedroom (two single beds and a shared bathroom). It would be advantageous to use La Salle's arrangements, which, at a very reasonable rate of $485USD for four weeks, include a great opportunity to interact with host families, daily breakfast, and either a daily box lunch or a light supper each evening. However, NEH scholars who wish to avoid sharing accommodations may opt to use a bed & breakfast that is also in the same Colonia Condesa area where we will all be staying. A few possibilities include the Casa Conde, the Red Tree House, and the Condesa Haus. Please visit each B&B's link to check rates and availability.

The homestay with a Mexican family will include:

a. Accommodations for four weeks

b. Two meals per day (breakfast, and a bag lunch or light supper)

c. Change of bed linens and towels weekly
